Three Cases of Uteline Rupture due to Oxytocin Induction


Abstract
Uterine rupture, a complication of oxytocin induction the recognizable clinical situations and physical examinations before induction should be necessary, is rare but potential lethal. Rapid diagnosis and therapy will prevent both maternal and fetal loss.
During a 3-year period, 380 of 1242 pregnant patients were induced with an oxytocin dripping infusion with 5% dextrose in water. There were 3 ruptured uteri; the one case was high age and high parity and others occurred in patient para 2, one of whom had history of manual removal of placenta once and placenta previa on the last pregnancy and the other had history of 9 times curettage. The maternal death was 0 and perinatal death was 33.3%.
